For pilots that are accepted for entry in the 2005 Shootout, entry fees will be fully refundable until September 12. After this time, refunds will be made only if a replacement pilot is successfully registered.
There will be a list of alternate pilots for the 2005 Shootout. For those pilots that are on the alternate pilot list, we will hold your entry fee check, uncashed, until it is clear that you will not be making the field for the 2005 Shootout.
All pilots that are not on the alternate pilots list will have their entry fees returned.
Contest Prize Pool
All entry fees go toward contest expenses and the prize pool. Invitational class and Four-Minute Free will share a cash prize pool.
For Sportsman, Intermediate, Advanced and Unlimited pilots there will be a prize pool provided by the event sponsors.
Final details are yet to be announced, however, we are currently well on our way to producing a cash and prize pool valued at over $80,000!
Pilot Volunteers
All pilots will be required to volunteer as judges and/or scribes. Sportsman through Unlimited pilots that are fluent in reading Aresti may be asked to serve as callers for judges in the Invitational class.
Pilot Roster Selection Process
The pilot roster for the Sportsman thru Unlimited class will be chosen by a Selection Panel. All pilots will be required to submit a resume for the Selection Panel to review. How quickly you send in your resume, entry fee and fill out the Intent to Register web form will have no bearing on your acceptance into the field.
Items to be considered by the panel include:
Participation and placement in previous Shootouts.
Previous participation and placement at other contests.
Service as CD or Judge at previous contests, etc.
Include all information you think will be relevant to the panel, even for lower
classes that you no longer fly.
In the resume, outline your judging experience. Please include any attendance at Scale Aerobatics Judging Schools. Include your level of ability in reading Aresti. See Pilot Volunteer section above.
Also, in your resume, include complete contact info; name, address, phone number and e-mail address.
Deadline for submitting resumes and filling out the Intent to Register web form will be, Saturday, July 9th, Midnight, Mountain Standard Time.
Registration is CLOSED for the 2005 Tucson Aerobatic Shootout.
The Entry Fee must be mailed to the Contest Director before a pilot will be considered for entry in the Shootout. Contest entry is limited. The Selection Panel will begin reviewing resumes July 10th. Pilot rosters will be posted on August 1st.
Make checks payable to TIMPA.
